Car loans - Watch this space

If you like me are a foreigner in Korea, you may find it very difficult impossible to get a car loan.  We are told we are a flight risk.  We are told our Korean partner must guarantee the loan.

Today I have written to one of the capital companies asking if they were refusing loans based on race.  If they don't answer or give an affirmative answer I will be filing a complaint against them with the National Human Rights Commission next Friday.

It's game on.

    Sabrina, I am not talking about car loans for people with bad credit, if you have bad credit you cannot afford a car.

    I am talking about car loans for legal residents regardless of race or nationality if they have good credit, a regular job and enough deposit, but thanks for your message.

    Great blog. According to hyundai capital, I was one of the first foreigners to actually receivea car loan through them. I had a cosigner, so that helps. Also, they only accepted me after they found out I was employed as a full time professor.
